Sectra sells digital x-ray system for SEK 60 M to Swedish hospitals Sectra in Sweden has received a major order from the Östergötland County Council in Sweden for a system for processing digital X-ray images. The system will be used in all X-ray units in Östergötland. The order is valued at SEK 60 M. The order comprises Sectra's PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) which will be used to successively digitize radiology in the county. "The aim of the investment is to shorten patient waiting time for an X- ray and provide personnel with the possibility of a simpler and more efficient handling of X-ray images. Moreover, the system provides us with the opportunity of savings in film and chemicals," says Arne Johansson, director at the Östergötland County Council. "It is also pleasing to be able to purchase a world-class X-ray system from a company based here in Östergötland." "It is a great pleasure to have been entrusted with delivery of the Sectra PACS to our own county council, which is recognized for operating a highly advanced health-care program," says Torbjörn Kronander, President of Sectra Imtec AB. "Consequently, we view the Östergötland County Council as an important reference customer. Deliveries will take place from this fall to year 2002."
