The IT and medical-technology company Sectra has signed a distribution agreement with the Polish company Edo Med Sp.z o.o., a provider of medical imaging products. Edo Med has an established customer base throughout the radiology and oncology market in Poland.

Through this partnership Edo Med becomes a distributor of Sectra’s medical systems in Poland. Initially, the agreement involves Sectra PACS (system for processing and archiving of digital radiology images) but it may be extended to comprise more products in the future.

“Edo Med has a well-established position in Poland and is an excellent partner for the distribution of our products”, says Torbjörn Kronander, President of Sectra Imtec AB. “With this partnership, we take an important step forward into the new Europe’s healthcare market,” he continues.

With a population of 40 million, Poland is a large healthcare market. Since the country joined the European Union in 2004, huge investments have been made in increasing healthcare efficiency. Digitizing the medical-imaging departments is an important step in coping with the ever increasing demands being imposed on the healthcare sector.

“We see rapidly growing demand for efficient medical imaging solutions in Poland”, says Jaroslaw Borkulak, President of Edo Med. “Partnering with Sectra enables us to provide new and existing customers with a well-proven solution to increase their operational effectiveness.”
