Sectra signs partnership agreement with leading Canadian mammography solution provider
The Swedish IT and medical-technology company Sectra has signed a partnership agreement with the Canadian company Xtron Imaging Inc. Under the agreement, Xtron Imaging Inc. will become a distributor of Sectra’s digital mammography system, Sectra MicroDose Mammography, in Canada.
Canada is a large healthcare market. Today, most of the mammography systems in Canada are analog and there is growing demand for digital mammography systems.
“The major focus on breast cancer in Canada and the increased digitization of mammography screening makes the timing excellent for our introduction of Sectra MicroDose Mammography on the Canadian market,” says Magnus Olofsson, VP Sales and Marketing of Sectra’s mammography operations.
Xtron Imaging Inc. is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and mammography solutions. Providing imaging products and service to the Canadian medical community for over 20 years, the company today has a base of approximately 200 customers.
“Sectra MicroDose Mammography, uniquely characterized by its photon-counting technology, unsurpassed low dose in combination with the superior image quality, was the obvious choice for us,” says Bruce Shaw, CEO of Xtron Imaging. “Patient dose is of the utmost importance to the Canadian radiology community, making Sectra MicroDose a very desirable mammography system for Canada.”
With superior image quality, Sectra MicroDose Mammography[1] generates by far the lowest dose of radiation of all of the systems offered on the market. MicroDose Mammography is installed at numerous hospitals and clinics in 18 European countries, as well as in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. The Sectra MicroDose solution is used in all major mammography screening programs in Europe.
