Swedish Defense Forces orders high-speed encryption from Sectra The Swedish information technology company Sectra has received an order from the Swedish Defense Forces for the latest generation high-speed encryption. The new high-speed ecryption system will protect secret information in the Defense Forces Telecom Network. The order is valued at SEK 10 million. "The high-speed FKK 521 encryption unit that we have developed for the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV), already today meets future demands for faster communication links," says Tommy Waszkiewicz, President of Sectra Communications AB, "With this order, we help protect the information exchange in the Swedish network-based defence of the future," adds Tommy Waszkiewicz. Today, the Swedish Defense Forces is using encryption systems from Sectra to protect communication in the entire Defense Forces Telecom Network. With the new product, designated FKK 521, the Defense Forces can protect voice, data and video information at data rates from 155 Mbit/s to 622 Mbit/s. Higher performance can be achieved by connecting several encryption units together.
