Order from county in Norway: The county of Vestfold orders digital radiology system from Sectra The Swedish IT and medical technology company Sectra has received an order from the county of Vestfold for digital radiology systems. The order consists of Sectra's radiology information system (RIS) and picture archive and communication system (PACS). The value of the order is approximately USD 1 million. The main hospital of Vestfold, Tönsberg Central Hospital, already has Sectra PACS installed, and was in 1998 the first hospital in Norway to have a totally film free radiology department. The PACS is now extended to include the whole county and additional investment is being made in a new administration system, RIS, for the radiology departments in the county. The order includes five hospitals. "We choose Sectra's systems, as they are reliable and a well-proven solution from which we have good experience," says Jan-Reidar Björke, Chief Radiologist at Tönsberg Central Hospital. "The introduction of digital X-ray images and electronic patient records throughout the whole county makes it possible to coordinate resources, which naturally benefits the patients." "We are happy to see that the positive experience of Sectra PACS at the hospital in Tönsberg is leading to further digitalization of the county with Sectra as the supplier. It is a superb credit to the company that we have been selected to deliver systems to all hospitals in the county," says Åge Sjåfjell, President of Sectra Norway AS. Sectra is one of the worlds leading companies in digital radiology systems, PACS. The Nordic market is world leading within the field and Sectra is the clear market leader in the Nordic market. The order from the county of Vestfold is a strong indication that existing customers are satisfied and prepared to further extend their cooperation with Sectra. Some other examples of Sectra customer are the Childrens Hospital of Astrid Lindgren in Stockholm, Sweden, the Hospital of Sunderbyn in the county of Norrbotten, Sweden, the Hospital of Tönsberg, Norway and all hospitals in the county of Örebro, Sweden. Sectra has also received large orders for PACS from the hospital Södersjukhuset, Stockholm, the counties of Värmland, Blekinge and Östergötland. Sectra systems have also been delivered via partners to several large hospitals in the USA, Holland, Germany and individual hospitals in several other countries. Due to the major differences in the healthcare structures in various countries, Sectra sells RIS solely in the Scandinavian market. Outside Scandinavia, Sectra cooperates with local RIS companies.
