Top London hospital chooses Sectra to improve radiology services
The medical imaging IT company, Sectra, (STO: SECT B), is focusing on expansion in the UK and has been awarded a contract from the Whittington Health NHS Trust to supply medical imaging IT systems. The solution facilitates more efficient radiology services, thus enabling the hospital to improve patient care. The contract will run for ten years.
Sectra’s solution will facilitate a more efficient image and information-management workflow within the hospital. It will also make images and information available to authorized radiologists and referring physicians at hospitals in other trusts when required, enabling Whittington Health to improve service to its patients.
“In the past year, we have made considerable investments in the UK market and this is a further strategic order that demonstrates that our investments are paying off,” says Marie Ekström, Executive Vice Presidentof Sectra.
The contract with Whittington Health is an operational agreement by which the customer buys the IT system as a service and Sectra’s initial project investments will be managed by the Group’s internal financing function.
The contract comprises a complete IT solution for the management of radiology images and patient information (Sectra RIS/PACS), including region-wide access to images and information independent of RIS/PACS based on the IHE-standard XDS. It also includes Sectra Open Archive, a cost-efficient solution for long-term storage of images. It connects any DICOM-compliant image storage system, thus providing the infrastructure for efficient workflows across enterprises.
