University hospital in the UK chooses PACS and VNA from Sectra
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, has awarded the medical imaging IT company Sectra (STO: SECT B) a ten-year contract to supply a complete IT solution for the management of radiology images, including Sectra PACS and Sectra Open Archive, a cost-efficient VNA solution for long-term storage of images. The investment will increase efficiency throughout the healthcare chain, thus improving patient care.
Through this investment, James Paget foresees an improved service to clinicians and more efficient image and information handling within the university hospitals, enabling, for example, reporting from remote locations. This will ensure that everyone involved in the patient pathway has swift access to the information needed, which improves patient care. Furthermore, since the Sectra solution can connect any DICOM-compliant image storage system, it provides the infrastructure for efficient workflows across medical disciplines.
