Turf-cutting ceremony for Semcon’s new head office
Göteborg’s municipal executive board chairman, Anneli Hulthén, presided over the turf-cutting ceremony for Semcon’s new head office, at the gateway to Lindholmen Science Park, with completion expected in January 2015.
The new, 9,000 m2 head office, will be next to the SVT building, with views over the Göta Älv river. Around 500 people will work at the office and it will be a new platform for Semcon’s continued expansion.
“We are an international player with strong connections to Göteborg. Our new head office will create a creative, sustainable and developmental environment with room for flexibility that will suit the way we work, both today and tomorrow. This will enable our employees to work more efficiently and improve their ability to share ideas and experience,” says Semcon’s CEO Markus Granlund.
“We are proud to be entrusted in building Semcon’s new head office. Eklandia is a long-term property owner that takes an active role in the development of Göteborg and through this project for Semcon we are providing further space for the expanding environment at Lindholmen Science Park,” says Tage Christoffersson, CEO, Eklandia Fastighets AB.
Semcon will rent the property from Eklandia Fastigheter AB with BRA Bygg AB as the building contractor. The new head office has been designed by Semrén & Månsson and will be Green Building certified. The head office will have clear Nordic design features of stone, glass and wood.
