8th October 2012
Sixteen accountancy trainees gathered in Grantham, Lincolnshire for an interactive and informative induction day with the leading East Midlands chartered accountants and business advisers Duncan & Toplis.
The trainees are all beginning ACA (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications or have joined Duncan & Toplis on a one-year placement.
“We hold an induction day every year for our new starters and it’s an opportunity for them to meet other trainees in the firm in a relaxed and friendly environment,” said Kim Moore, HR Manager at Duncan & Toplis.
“The trainees learned more about Duncan & Toplis thanks to talks given by our Managing Partner, Adrian Reynolds, and a number of colleagues who began their career as trainees with us.”
Maddie Barbarino from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales gave a talk about studying for the ACA qualification and the afternoon was spent on
in-house induction sessions and completing paperwork.
“They all loved it,” said Kim. “It was a fun day – a bit of an ice breaker – and not all serious!”
