CHEYENNE, WYO, June 18, 2012 – Multichannel retailer Sierra Trading Post is reporting a significant increase in customer acquisition in 2012.

“In May alone we added more than 43,000 new customers to our list, and we’ve added more than 200,000 so far this year,” says Sierra Trading Post President Gary Imig. “The attraction is obvious – we’re offering incredible savings on high quality gear and apparel in addition to great customer service.”

Customers saved $30.3 million in May on outdoor gear, shoes, clothing, home goods and higher end men’s and women’s apparel. So far in 2012, customers have saved $144 million off retail prices and saved $3.5 billion since 1986, the year Sierra Trading Post was founded.

The Top 100 Internet Retailer celebrates 26 years in business next month with daily giveaways through June 25 and plans to continue to promote itself as the place to “save 35-70 percent every day” off retail prices on brands like New Balance, Teva and Keen.

“It’s very promising to see our customer file grow like this,” Imig explains. “It’s clear we have much to offer customers in terms of quality, but our customer service is also highly prized by our most loyal customers, and we don’t take it for granted. We’re continually striving to retain our customers with a constant evaluation of the service we offer online, in stores and in our call centers.”
