McLaren MP4-12C to go under hammer for very first time
One of the greatest supercars ever produced, a McLaren MP4-12C, has been secured by Silverstone Auctions for its forthcoming Spring Sale on 16thMay.
It is the very first time that a MP4-12C has been offered for sale by auction anywhere in the world.
This particular model, one of just 1,000 produced in 2011, is estimated at between £160,000 to £180,000. It has covered just 2,150 miles from new with one owner and is presented in immaculate condition.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “This McLaren is simply stunning and in a league of its own. Its addition to our collection is quite a coup and we are really excited to be offering it for sale, especially as it is the first time a MP4-12C has been up for auction.”
The statistics for the MP4-12C are mind-boggling. Its 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine can propel the car from 0 to 124 mph in an incredible 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 200mph.
Even the name 'MP4-12C' is a homage to McLaren's Formula One history, as every chassis since 1981 has been labelled MP4.
This particular model has recently returned from McLaren, where all the latest factory updates were installed. The bodywork is finished in special order Graphite Grey paint with full carbon black leather and alcantara interior.
Additional factory options include Meridian surround sound system, Stealth Pack, parking sensors front and rear, colour coded red brake callipers, IRIS upgrade with SatNav, COBRA tracking system and contrasting Harissa red stitching on the dash. In addition, there is a 3 year manufacturer's warranty supplied with the car.
