A 1987 ADA Group C Le Mans Race Car is the latest addition to Silverstone Auctions’ Classic Sale, perhaps only fitting with the world-famous 24 hours endurance race taking place this weekend (16th and 17th June). Porsche leads the grid at Silverstone Auctions’ Spring Sale

A stunning Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring was one of the highlights at Silverstone Auctions’ recent Spring Sale when it sold for more than £200,000. This 1973 model had been the recent recipient of a total restoration by leading RS specialist Marc De Siebenthal of Switzerland, no doubt adding to its appeal. Fans of two wheels were out in force at last weekend’s Race Retro Sale hosted by Silverstone Auctions. Among the motorbikes sold were a Triumph Speed Twin dating from 1946 which sold for a premium inclusive £9,570 and another from 1964 which fetched £3,300. A Maserati 3500GT, believed to be the only race trim model of its type in the UK, is one of three models from 1961 leading the motorsport charge at the forthcoming Race Retro Sale.
