Sivers IMA today announced that its patent application for technology that enhances advanced measurement with radar has been approved in the United States, an important and prioritized market for the company.

This technology provides a more efficient and precise way of measuring speed of and distance to an object. The basis of the patent is an improved solution that drastically increases the ability to select a specific object. Unwanted reflections from interfering objects present in the same area as the selected object are suppressed in the signal.

“We see extensive opportunities with this technology, especially within industrial applications and in all harsh environments. We are proud to be able to provide our customers with technology helping them solve difficult challenges and thereby improving their products”, says Robert Ekström, CEO of Sivers IMA.

The use of radar sensors is widespread. Radar is often deployed for level measurement as well as distance and speed between two objects. The technology is well suited for harsh environment where smoke, fog or other objects prevents the use of other technologies such as ultra sound or infrared.
