Sivers Semiconductors receives purchase orders of 900 kUSD (10 MSEK*) from European satellite communications company
Sivers Semiconductors AB (“Sivers”) today announces that its business unit, Sivers Wireless, has received purchase orders for engineering activities (750 kUSD) and acceleration fees (150 kUSD) to speed up manufacturing of beamformer ICs at a total value of 900 kUSD (approximately 10 MSEK*).
The engineering activities have started for this new project. The acceleration fee purchase order is a consequence of an ongoing development contract from MixComm, a company acquired by Sivers and now integrated in Sivers Wireless. The first generation beamformer ICs have been developed during the last two years and the purchase order is the first step towards volume production.
“I am truly happy to see the benefits of the Mixcomm acquisition materialize in this way. We are committed to continue to develop this customer relationship into a mutually beneficial strategic partnership”, said Anders Storm, Group CEO of Sivers Semiconductors.
The market for this new type of ground-based terminals is expected to grow substantially the coming 7 years and is estimated to offer at total addressable market for Sivers’ type of chipsets of 5 billion USD (50 billion SEK*) during the period 2023-2028**
