Record sales first quarter

Record Sales First Quarter At Skandia's Annual General Meeting today, Lars-Eric Petersson, President and Chief Executive Officer, informed that Skandia registered new record sales for the first quarter 2000. Total sales amounted to 59 (27,3) billion SEK, an increase of 117 per cent compared with the same period 1999. At constant exchange rates the increase was 105 per cent. "I am very pleased to announce that sales of variable annuities as well as other savings products have reached new record levels on all markets", said Lars-Eric Petersson. In the US, which is Skandia's single largest market, sales rose by 111 per cent in local currency, to USD 4.3 billion (2.0), of which variable annuities amounts to 2.7 (1.4) and other savings products 1.6 (0.6).
