Record Sales First Quarter At Skandia's Annual General Meeting today, Lars-Eric Petersson, President and Chief Executive Officer, informed that Skandia registered new record sales for the first quarter 1999. Sales for Long-Term Savings increased by over 74 per cent, to SEK 27 billion during the first quarter 1999. "I am very pleased to announce that sales of variable annuities and other savings products have reached new record levels", said Lars-Eric Petersson. In the US, which is Skandia's single largest market, sales rose by 115 per cent in local currency, to USD 2.0 billion (0.9), of which variable annuities amounts to 1.4 (0.8) and other savings products 0.6 (0.1).
