Skandia bolsters its endeavours in new markets

Skandia bolsters its endeavours in new markets Jan R. Carendi, Deputy CEO of Skandia, will be leading Skandia's successful unit linked assurance activities in new markets. At the same time, Wade Dokken has been appointed as CEO of American Skandia. He succeeds Jan R. Carendi, who has been CEO since American Skandia was established more than ten years ago. Wade Dokken has been COO of American Skandia since 1 January 2000 and serves on Skandia's Executive Management Board. He joined American Skandia in 1989. Commenting on this change, Skandia's President and CEO, Lars-Eric Petersson, said: "Several interesting markets are now emerging in which Skandia aims to build up its market positions. Jan Carendi has extensive experience at Skandia in building up new markets. His experience and entrepreneurial spirit will be a major asset in this endeavour." Jan R. Carendi commented: "After nearly thirty years at Skandia, I take great satisfaction in the fact that Skandia has achieved a globally leading position in unit linked assurance products and services. Therefore it feels natural to hand over the legacy from Skandia's more mature markets to the next generation of leaders. I will now be dedicating all my energies to developing new markets and products." All changes take effect as from 1 June 2000.
