SKANDIA IN CO-OPERATION WITH MORGAN STANLEY DEAN WITTER Skandia's subsidiary American Skandia, one of the leading distributors of mutual funds in the US, has signed a sales agreement with the brokerage firm of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Under the agreement, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter will sell the company's innovative family of mutual funds. Morgan Stanley Dean Witter has a global sales force of 12,674 financial advisors in 550 offices in 25 countries around the world. Its client base of 4.5 million accounts has total assets of 583 billion USD. Introduced in July of 1997, American Skandia Advisor Funds are the fastest growing funds in the history of the American mutual funds industry, according to data provided by the Financial Research Corporation. The 17 retail mutual funds had total assets of close to 5 billion USD at year-end 1999.
