Skandia's sales January-April 2000 Total sales for the period January-April 2000 amounted to SEK 78.2 billion. Sales in April were thus SEK 18.7 billion. This can be compared with sales of SEK 62.4 billion for the first half of 1999 and SEK 134 billion for the full year 1999. The sales increase continues. Sales in April are always slightly lower than in March, as March sales are buoyed by the fact that March is the end of the tax year in, for example, the UK. In the USA, which is Skandia's largest single market, sales in local currency totalled USD 5.6 billion, broken down into variable annuities, USD 3.6 billion, and mutual fund savings products, USD 2.0 billion. Lars-Eric Petersson, President and CEO of Skandia, comments: "Despite considerable turbulence in the financial markets, April was Skandia's second-best month ever. Compared with a year ago we can certify that our record sales growth continues unabated."
