Smashdig reports handpicked news from the Swedish media and PR world. Smashdig has been a player in the Swedish media field since 2014 and is now the first online trade publication in Sweden to launch an international site in English.

‘‘Sweden has become a hub for startups and innovation. That’s also the case for the media industry – especially in the digital field. Smashdig.com aims to tell the stories about the young, entrepreneurial people behind some really cool and interesting media projects coming out of Sweden and Scandinavia. By doing it in English we hope to not only inform and educate Swedes and Scandinavians, but also to reach an international audience.’’ Adam Jönsson says, editor smashdig.com.

“Adam Jönsson belongs to the talented generation of journalists that has a strong digital DNA and a large commitment to the digital media field. The role as an editor suits him perfectly.” Daniel Bacelj says, founder and Publisher Smashdig.

Smashdig aims to find and follow the stars of tomorrow and report about their way to the top. The target audience is young, digital and modern – just like the company itself.

Even though the website is the core of the company, Smashdig realize social media platforms are important to reach news consumers. Therefore, Smashdig will not only post its news on the site but also deliver them in the shape of video, picture and text on the most popular social media channels.

Adam Jönsson has been with Smashdig since May 2015. He grew up in Sweden but has both worked in and studied journalism in New Zealand and Canada.

This spring he left Humber College in Canada as the top student of his class and with a bachelor’s degree in digital journalism. During his time in Canada, Adam Jönsson worked as the student editor-in-chief for the media news site J-Sources where he helped to set up the company’s foreign desk.

‘‘Smashdig.com is a very exciting project where I get the opportunity to use all the skills and knowledge I’ve collected over the past couple of years. I hope my international experience can guide both Swedish and international readers to look at the digital media industry from new and creative perspectives.’’ Adam Jönsson says.
