Södra appoints Cecila Karlsson as new CFO
Södra has appointed Cecilia Karlsson to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Södra. She will take up the position on 1 December 2026.
Cecilia has extensive experience in the finance area. She most recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Öresundskraft and has previously held similar roles at IKEA and Findus, as well as having many years of experience at McKinsey. She holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
“I am very pleased to welcome Cecilia to Södra. She is an experienced leader with a strong background from global companies. Her commitment, together with her many years of experience in financial management, will be of great importance to Södra and to the work ahead of us, both in the short and long term,” says CEO Lotta Lyrå.
In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Cecilia will be a member of Södra’s Group Executive Team. She succeeds Magnus Örnberg, who has decided to pursue opportunities closer to his home and family in Stockholm. Magnus will remain at Södra until the beginning of 2027.
“I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to work with one of our most valuable raw materials and to becoming part of a world-class organisation and industrial facilities. Södra, as a cooperative, appeals to me, the idea that we are stronger together. I now look forward to learning more about the forest industry, the business, and contributing my experience to the transformation journey underway,” says Cecilia Karlsson, incoming CFO at Södra.
