Södra launches Wood Solutions for growing partnerships in sustainable timber

Södra has launched Wood Solutions to expand cooperation with customers and enhance the way it helps them contribute to a climate-smart, simple and efficient construction industry. The new concept includes services, solutions, advice and support which are complementary to its sustainable sawn timber products and construction systems.

”Wood Solutions is the collective name for our services, advice and customer support,” says Jörgen Lindquist, President of Södra Wood. ”We develop climate-smart Wood Solutions and want to expand cooperation with customers for a sustainable future. It is important that our customers are aware of our level of innovation, quality and our focus on solutions rather than just products.”

Wood Solutions also promotes the development of new products and services within a rapidly-changing market. Some examples of this are painted products, tongue and groove boards and services related to CLT-elements.

”Södra is in the unusual position of controlling the entire value chain, from the responsibly-managed forests owned by our 53,000 members all the way through production to the customer,” says Jörgen Lindquist.

”This means we can offer sustainable, complete solutions without compromise. Our products today have more uses than ever and with Wood Solutions we want to live up to, and exceed, our customers’ expectations.”

Founded in 1938, Södra is Sweden’s largest forest-owner association, with 53,000 forest owners as its members. We conduct modern and responsible forestry, and operate state-of-the-art mills in which we process our raw material. In 2019, net sales amounted to SEK 23 billion and employees totalled 3,100. Through value-generating relationships and a long-term approach, Södra shows the way for the next generation of forestry.
