Södra’s Chairman of the Board Lena Ek declines re-election
Lena Ek has chosen to not stand for re-election as Södra’s Chairman of the Board for the forthcoming period. She will remain as Chairman of the Board until the Annual General Meeting on 24 May 2022.
Lena Ek has served as Chairman of the Board of Södra since 2015. Since then, Södra has evolved into a more modern association with a major focus on innovation, for example, through investments in new products and fields of application for the raw material from the members’ forest estates.
Lena Ek has now decided that she will not stand for re-election as Södra’s Chairman of the Board for the forthcoming period.
“I have had seven fantastic years as Chairman of the Board. Södra has stabilised and become an innovative forest-owner association with a focus on its members and the finances of their forest estates. Södra is an amazing association characterised by democratic governance, where 52,000 family forest owners work together to develop their own estates and the shared industrial operations. It’s great to be able to step down from my role knowing that Södra has reported a record result – despite all the challenges we encountered in recent years. It’s also very satisfying to propose a record dividend to this year’s Annual General Meeting, which is much needed by our members following a challenging period,” said Lena Ek.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in and outside Södra who have encouraged and supported me during these seven years. I wish all of Södra much success in the future!”
Lena Ek will remain as Chairman of the Board of Södra until the Annual General Meeting on 24 May, when her successor will be elected.
