C.R. Bard Sued Over Transvaginal Meshes

A product liability lawsuit has been filed against C.R. Bard by a woman claiming the medical device manufacturer’s transvaginal mesh implants failed and forced her to undergo a number of corrective surgeries.

Mary Ann McCloskey claims that she had surgery in November 2006 to have a C.R. Bard pelvic soft acellular collagen biomesh implanted, theMadison Record reported. On February 25, 2010 she began experience pain due to erosion of the implant, and later learned that she was suffering from internal bleeding that required her to undergo multiple corrective surgeries, according to the complaint.

McCloskey claims she suffered the loss of her normal life, impairment to her earning capacity, and incurred medical costs.
