Honda Motor Co. issued an auto recall of 489,000 CR-Vs in the United States and Europe for a potential fire hazard.

Reuters report that 268,000 of the sport utility vehicles were recalled in the United States, 220,000 in Europe, and less than 100 in Africa. Honda, the third largest automaker in Japan, recalled vehicles only from model years 2002 to 2006.

The vehicles facing recall were found to have rain water getting into the power window switch on the driver’s door, causing the switch to overheat and catch fire, posing safety risks to the driver and the passengers.

The company’s spokesperson said that there have been reports of five switch fires but no injuries or deaths have been reported, according to Reuters.

The announcement comes after Honda’s recent recall of 600,000 Accord mid-sized sedans for a potential power steering fluid leak problem that could cause a fire under the hood of the car.
