Kia Motors America has issued a recall for about 22,000 Borrego SUVs due to a problem with brake pedal mounts.

If the mounts break while the vehicle is in motion, drivers may not be able to stop it, which could result in a second car accident, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Borregos affect by the recall are from the model year 2009 and were built from May, 2, 2008 to January 20, 2009, according to the Associated Press.
