Kia Recalls Rio Cars for Air Bag Issue

Report this content

Kia Motors has issued a recall of about 73,000 Rio vehicles due to a problem with the front passenger air bag.

The recall is in effect for cars from model years 2006 to 2008. A sensor inside the front passenger seat may break and not detect if a child is sitting in the seat, according to the Miami Herald. This is an issue because the air bag may inflate during a car accident and injure a child.

Kia states it has not received any reports of injuries in relation to the air bag problem.
