Metal Particles Leads to Mini-Wheats Recall

How about some metal with your Mini-Wheats?

Kellogg’s issued a voluntary food recall of certain lots of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size due to the possibility that metal particles released from a defective manufacturing part may have tainted the cereal.

The Los Angeles Times reports that around 3 million boxes of the breakfast stand-by are being recalled by the company.

The recalled products include only those lots of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size that have letters KB, AP, or FK printed before or after the Best If Used Before date, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Consumers are advised to contact Kellogg’s through its website to learn more about the affected product.
