Sushi lovers may want to think twice before ordering any type of tuna roll because a yellowfin tuna product, used to prepare sashimi and sushi at grocery stores and restaurants, has been linked to a salmonella outbreak.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced that they received reports of 116 people being affected by the tainted tuna, including 12 people who had to be hospitalized. The agency has not received any reports of death.

The outbreak has affected people in 20 states, as well as the District of Columbia.

Common symptoms of salmonella poisoning include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and fever. The sickness can be life-threatening for elderly people, infants, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems.
