SOTKAMO SILVER PUBLISH A REPORT ON EXPLORATION-PROSPECTS IN THE TAMPERE GOLD DISTRICT AND ALONG THE SILVER MINE, THE FLAGSHIP-PROJECT
(For press release in Finnish, see attached file)
Sotkamo Silver’s main target and flagship-project is the Taivaljärvi Silver Mine in Sotkamo. The Company has applied for 35 exploration-claims in the Tipasjärvi Greenstone belt area, where granting is expected late 2013. Archean Greenstone belts are known for their world-class gold and nickel deposits, especially in Australia, Canada and South Africa.
Most promising new targets in Tipasjärvi Greenstone belt are the Kokkokorpi gold-occurrence, with numerous silver-containing indications (Hiidenkirkko, Hietajärvi), nickel-indications associated with komatiites, ultramafic rocks, copper-silver indications east of the Silver Mine and extensive kyanite–bearing rock units.
The most extensive and promising kyanite-deposit was studied in detail in the late 1980’s. The concentration and technical-tests indicated that a commercial kyanite-concentrates and high-quality low-iron quartz concentrate could be produced.
Large deposits of kyanite bearing rocks enable for future planning of kyanite production.
The Tampere gold-district in south-western Finland has been the target for active gold exploration by GTK and several other exploration-companies. Two active gold-mines (Jokisivu and Kutema), one past-producing gold-mine (Haveri) and more than 20 drillings indicated gold-occurrences with testified high potential. Most of Sotkamo Silver´s gold-prospects are at advanced stages and with confirmed high gold-value, which facilitate next investigation-steps. Most promising target is Hopeavuori, where the best drill-intersections are 10,5 meters at 20,5 g/t gold (Au) and 17,5 meters at 13,1 g/t gold (Au). The Hopeavuori claims were received in 2011 and other rights are expected in late 2013.
