Roger Lund Antonesen is the new Executive Vice President for the Retail Market in SpareBank 1 SR-Bank

Roger Lund Antonesen comes from the position of Division Director for SMEs in DNB and will take over the position after Jan Friestad as Executive Vice President for the Retail Market at SpareBank 1 SR-Bank.

"I believe that SpareBank 1 SR-Bank has an interesting position as a challenger to the Norwegian banking market, and it is a financial services group that I look forward to becoming part of”, says Roger Lund Antonesen, Executive Vice President for the Retail Market.

He takes over the job after Jan Friestad who, after ten years as PM Director, is taking over a new position in the Group executive management with responsibility for group strategy and projects.

Lund Antonesen has worked for DNB for 15 years. He joined DNB in 2006 as account manager and was responsible for obtaining new SME customers in Bergen. With his roots in Bergen, he has held various regional management roles in the DNB system in the areas of investment consultancy and the corporate market since 2012. In 2019, he took over overall responsibility for all of DNB's 230,000 Norwegian SME and public sector customers.

"Being able to lead SR-Bank's largest business area and being wisely and strategically placed as a banking connection that offers good physical distribution and digital services for our customers is something that I look forward to working with," says Lund Antonesen.

The Retail Market Division is the SR-Bank Group's largest division with 490 employees and more than 350,000 retail customers.

Lund Antonesen has studied management and international trade at Monash University in Melbourne. He also has an MBA in Strategic Management from the Norwegian School of Economics( NHH ) and an MBA in Techonology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

There has been a great deal of interest in the position with many strong candidates to choose between both internally and externally.

"The choice fell on Roger, who I am confident will contribute to the Group's growth and will deliver on the strategic goals we have set for ourselves. I know Roger from my time at DNB, and am confident that he will adapt well to the SR-Bank culture," says CEO Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer.

Lund Antonesen will take up the position on 1 December 2021.
