Opies launch new catering pack of Pickled Walnuts in response to Chef demand

Following the demand from chefs and caterers, Opies Foodservice has announced the launch of a new catering sized pack for their signature Pickled Walnuts.

Pickled Walnuts are becoming increasingly popular in a variety of dishes; served alongside cold cuts, cheese and antipasto and to add texture to a salad. As Winter takes holds, Pickled Walnuts are being featured widely within recipes using beef, lamb and game.

Walnuts are picked in their prime before any shell has formed and then painstakingly prepared by hand before being gently cooked. Opies, who are amongst the only commercial UK producer of Pickled Walnuts, then preserve the nuts in a traditional spiced malt vinegar and leave them to carefully marinate to enhance the delicious, unique flavour.

The walnuts are packed into a food-grade 1.5kg jar with resealable lid. With convenient ambient storage, once opened they can be refrigerated and used within 4 weeks.

Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs and contain no artificial colourings, flavourings, additives or preservatives.

The new Pickled Walnuts complements Opies Foodservice offer which also includes olives, capers, peppercorns, gherkins, chutneys, compotes, ginger, pickles and cocktail products. The Opies range is available from specialist wholesalers, cash & carries and specialist Catering Suppliers.
