Pickled Walnuts back on the shelves

Report this content

Pickled Walnut fans were left in something of a pickle over Christmas.

Unfortunately supply problems of the festive favourite hit before Christmas, just as they got a mention on BBC Masterchef by judge and Pickled Walnut fan John Torode. This unfortunate supply issue was a direct result of a poor harvest. Walnuts are picked in the summer when they are at their absolute prime before any shell has formed.

Farmily-owned firm Opies, the only large-scale commercial producer of pickled walnuts in the UK, have recently reported that Pickled Walnut stocks are now back to normal and, because of their popular appeal are flying off the shelves!

Opies Pickled Walnuts are available at Sainsbury's, Asda and Tesco 390g £2.49.
