South Caernarfon Creameries has appointed Megi Williams in the new role of Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator. This new role will provide sales support for the Creameries’ sales team and assist with key marketing activity.

Local girl Megi joins Wales’ oldest farming co-operative having recently graduated in Business & Management from Aberystwyth University. As part of her final dissertation, Megi studied the Welsh food and drink industry. She looked at how successful Welsh Food and Drink companies compete in larger markets and how they maintain their success.

Megi Williams said: “It was whilst doing my final dissertation that I came across South Caernarfon Creameries. Although I lived locally to the Creamery, I didn’t know that much about them. My studies enabled me to gain a greater understanding of Welsh food and drink businesses and also the wider industry sector. Until that point, I hadn’t really considered a career in food, but my dissertation explored the industries’ diversity and progressiveness and that completely changed my perception. There is so much innovation, both in terms of product and promotion, that I really wanted to get involved. I spoke to a lot of Welsh food and drink companies but was particularly impressed with SCC as a company and thought I’d like to work for them. I enquired about a job and was pleased to see the Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator role advertised and even more delighted to be offered the job. It seems fate dealt a hand studying South Caernarfon Creameries as part of my final dissertation to now working here! So far I’ve been involved in lots of different projects and have travelled throughout Wales to attend tasting events in retail stores and trade shows and it’s always good to talk to fans of our Dragon cheese.”

Alan Wyn-Jones, Managing Director at South Caernarfon Creameries said “The Creamery has ambitious growth plans so we are strengthening our team in order to ensure we achieve this. We identified that we needed to strengthen our sales and marketing support with our key accounts and also assist to bring in new business and Megi will prove to be a key member of the team”.
