Sweden’s green-tech innovation company Spowdi has developed and patented the world’s most energy-efficient solar-powered water distribution system, the Mobile Pro MK II, which it will exhibit at FIMA, Spain’s global agriculture event, from April 26 to 30, 2022.

Sweden’s green-tech innovation company Spowdi will participate in Spain’s 42nd FIMA fair, scheduled to be held on April 26-30, 2022. FIMA is among the largest global fairs for the agricultural sector, with a special focus on agricultural machinery.

Spowdi has developed and patented the world’s most energy-efficient solar-powered water distribution system, the Mobile Pro MK II, which it will exhibit at FIMA. The Mobile Pro MK II is a Smart Farming solution for distributing and saving water with precision. It is optimized for drip irrigation and helps generate resilient food production with low water use and only the sun as a power source.

“We are excited to participate at FIMA along with our partner, the global irrigation company Naandan Jain. Spowdi’s Smart Farming system has taken years to develop and perfect, and we are happy to show our product at this important event,” says Henrik Johansson, CEO of Spowdi.

How does Spowdi’s Smart Farming system work?

Spowdi’s patented technology reduces both the size of the pump motor and the solar panel, which in turn makes it possible to produce a lightweight and more cost-effective system for solar-powered water distribution.

Spowdi’s Smart Farming system helps increase crop yields, shortens growing cycles, and at the same time reduces emissions and minimizes water usage. The system can easily be transported and assembled by one person. Each Mobile Pro MK II system is designed to irrigate up to one acre in precision to the roots drip by a drip of row crops, orchard trees, vines, vegetables, or flowers. For larger areas, more systems can be integrated.

Towards an agricultural evolution

There are about 500 million small-hold farms worldwide that produce one-third of our food and employ up to two billion people. While small-hold farms use land and resources more efficiently, they are most susceptible to climate change and depleting water tables.

Spowdi is igniting an agriculture evolution powered by the sun. Our Smart Farming solar-powered drip irrigation system enables small-hold farmers to move and save water with help from the sun, thus securing efficient and profitable food production and leaving the fossil fuel era behind.

By innovating for a greener tomorrow, Spowdi’s vision is to lead the transformation towards regenerative farming based on low water use and clean energy.
