Spreadshirt to License Ford Clothing
London–24 May 2012–Spreadshirt (www.spreadshirt.co.uk), the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform has today announced an agreement with Leap Group Holdings Ltd, Ford's pan European men’s, women’s and children’s apparel licensee. The Leap Group were introduced to Ford by Performance Brands, Ford’s licensing agents for Europe and Asia, and have created a range of clothing with designs showcasing the iconic Ford logo and classic cars.
“We chose Spreadshirt because of their reputation and the partners they already work with”, says Ben Pope, UK Sales Manager at Leap Holdings. “We were looking for a bulk-order distributor, but Spreadshirt’s offering is much more effective for license holders. We have been able to set up an online shop for Ford’s clothing, with print-on-demand technology and payments and returns managed by Spreadshirt. The platform means we can offer fans access to a huge database of designs as time goes on, with no upfront costs for anyone”.
Ford, the original American automotive brand has one of the most recognisable logos in the world with 90% brand awareness globally. The new Ford collection encapsulates the rich history of the brand through stylish photographs and images that have been archived over the past 100 years. The collection also reflects the fun, individualism and untamed spirit of the Ford customer while maintaining a fashionable edge.
The range of clothing which is available for sale via http://fordclothing.spreadshirt.co.uk and through the Spreadshirt marketplace, gives brand advocates and traditional t-shirt lovers the opportunity to buy timeless images of cars by eras and styles. Each design represents the quality, diversity and affordability of the Ford brand.
Philip Rooke, CEO at Spreadshirt states “We are pleased to be working with Leap Holdings on this exciting clothing deal for Ford. Licensors are increasingly realising that they can take the opportunities which new merchandising techniques, combined with clever marketing strategies can offer. Our understanding of copyright law means we can guide European license holders through the process of offering iconic designs online.”
