8th September 2025 - LONDON: Sproud (www.sproudglobal.com), the Swedish company behind a range of pea protein-based milk alternatives, today announces the launch of ‘Matcha’, a low sugar, ready-to-drink milk alternative.

The drink can be served both hot and cold, and 1L Sproud Matcha cartons are now available to purchase in the UK via the Sproud website.

Sara Berger, CEO of Sproud, comments: “Matcha is having a moment: consumers are increasingly looking for more variety in drinks. Providing healthy plant-based alternatives is our identity, so we are thrilled to be able to add Sproud Matcha to our range and keep our customers happy from the first thing in the morning to the last thing at night.”

Matcha sales generated £38.7 million in UK retail revenue in 2024, with the market expected to double by 2030.

The announcement follows Sproud’s B Corp Certification in August, and comes after a summer in which Sproud products were listed in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.
