Stockmann has signed an agreement with SRV on the construction of a new distribution centre. The distribution centre will open in 2016 next to good transport connections at Jussla in Tuusula, and its investor and lessor is Ilmarinen.

The warehouse functions of Stockmann’s Finnish department stores and online business in Pitäjänmäki, Tammisto, Vantaanrasti, Pakkala and Viinikkala as well as the functions of its Baltic operations warehouse in Riga will be transferred to the new distribution centre.

“The Stockmann distribution centre is a good example of a project based on customer needs and of sustainable area development. The customer obtains the most efficient possible location for its operations, and at the same time reinforces the logistics cluster that already exists in the area,” explains SRV Project Development Director Jouko Pöyhönen.

The Stockmann distribution centre will cover 29,000 m2. The area of the whole site is 133,665 m², including sufficient space for another centre of similar size, in which the intention is to build a logistics facility in future.
