The global space market is experiencing tremendous growth, not the least in Australia and the Asian Pacific region. In this context, SSC is pleased to announce the appointment of SSC Space Australia new Managing Director, Matthew Creamer, who will reinforce the company’s local presence of now 13 years in the country.

In 2017, we saw the creation of the Australian Space Agency and in 2020 Australia and New Zealand announced their intention to jointly develop a navigation program (SBAS), expected to allow the economies of both countries to generate USD 7.5 Bn across their industries. The Australian government also publicly reinforced its support to the space sector during the recent Space Summit 2022 in Sydney.

Joining into this quick development on the Asian-Pacific market, SSC is now strengthening its presence in Australia. The announcement comes only one year after the company’s Thai office opening last year.

“We are very pleased to announce Matthew Creamer as our new Managing Director of our Aussie subsidiary SSC Space Australia. Matt will also be the new Business Development Director of our Ground Segment activities in the APAC region. He is based in Adelaide and brings 20 years of valuable experience in from the ICT, telecommunications and data center industries,” says Fredrik Gisle, Head of SSC Satellite Management Services in the APAC region.

“I am really excited to join SSC in such an expansive phase. I look forward to continue growing the company’s ground communication support to the space industry in the APAC region, and of course develop SSC’s presence and activities in Australia. To meet the market needs and high ambitions of the company, we are committed to double our workforce locally,” says Matthew Creamer, new Managing Director of SSC Space Australia.

Over the years, the Western Australia Space Center, WASC, has been a popular site, both in terms of hosting location and usage of the station’s multi-mission antennas, meeting the global demand of increased global Earth-to-Space connectivity coverage. Shortly, WASC will also add a new feature throught the opening of a new satellite tracking station for SSA missions.
