We’re thrilled to welcome John to the STACK team to drive our strategy and operations in the EMEA region. John is a proven leader who brings over two decades of strategy, development and management experience in the data center industry, including extensive regional expertise that we believe will be highly valuable as we continue to expand STACK’s already successful European business.

We are also excited to welcome Adam, another proven leader in the data center industry. We are confident he will be successful in supporting John and the EMEA leadership team on growing and enhancing relationships with key hyperscalers.

Treklyngen industrial park has a good strategic location, access to renewable energy through the agreement with Ringerikskraft and advanced solutions for circular economy. Acquiring this prime plot will help DigiPlex attract new national and international customers, including in the High Performance Computing (HPC) segment. I would like to thank both Ringerike municipality, the seller Follum Eiendom and Ringerikskraft for the warm welcome they have extended us.

We welcome DigiPlex to Ringerike and are proud that they have chosen to establish a new data center here. We have for several years purposefully worked to facilitate the establishment of large data centers in the municipality, and we are very pleased to see the results. We have the required infrastructure, both technically and location wise, and have collaborated to facilitate regulation, energy access and digital connection opportunities.

DigiPlex is a long-term and solid player that fits into our industrial park.

There are opportunities for good synergies between data centers and other activities that are planned for the area, not least the planned biomass plant that can re-use heat from the data center and generate electricity.

We are happy and proud to have signed an agreement with a player such as DigiPlex. At Ringerikskraft, we want to contribute to growth and development in the region. In the same way as electricity, we all now depend on data centers to make the wheels turn in today's digital society, and the data center industry is the world's fastest growing, energy-intensive industry.

There is still more to do in improving the working lives for our staff. One thing in particular is clear from these results and the comments from our staff – we need to get better at communicating. Our staff are our number one consideration and we need to get better at keeping them informed. This will be a personal objective for me in 2020.

Congratulations to DigiPlex for again being ranked as a Great Place to Work. I was really encouraged to see progress in several important areas – specifically in ensuring gender balance. Participation in our programme demonstrates that DigiPlex’ leadership is open and will be honest about the results and take them and the views of staff seriously. Ultimately, it is this honesty that builds the trust essential to a strong work culture.

Our international customers see Norway as an excellent location for their data, with green and inexpensive energy, political stability and a cool climate. The two new centres we are announcing today will complement the three Norwegian centres we already operate, and form part of our continuing growth plans in the Nordics.

These two new sites, which we’re excited to have operational as early as 2020, underline our ability to deliver against the high demands for speed, resource and capability that international customers have when considering build-out in new regions.

The incredible pace of digitization, and the accompanying rise in international demand for better, faster and greener data solutions has significantly changed the ‘math’ at C- level when it comes to data centers. When I founded DigiPlex, I wanted it to become first name in data centers. Not just in the most attractive and active market, but across the world. I’m delighted to see more people than ever getting the message.

We want more business leaders to realize what some hyperscalers already have – that innovative data centers in the Nordic region are presenting incredible long-term strategic advantages. Building our Nordic brand is an essential part of our growth strategy, and it also reflects what we feel is a crucial next step for the whole industry.
