Both Linda and Mattias Rahm are the defending champions in this summer’s match racing events in Lysekil and Marstrand. Last year’s winner of Match Cup Sweden in Marstrand, Mattias Rahm, will compete on 29 June – 5 July with his Stena Bulk Sailing Team while Linda Rahm will competed with her Team Stena Bulk.

Photo: Dan Ljungsvik Match Cup Sweden Fourteen male and eight female highly ranked crews from all over the world will compete in Match Cup Sweden in Marstrand this week. It will be the fifteenth year for this competition and more than 100,000 spectators are expected to follow the races. Match Cup Sweden has had World Championship status since 2007 when it was also included in the World Match Racing Tour, with races for the title of world champion in ten countries. Mattias won last year while Linda finished third. “Both Linda and I have been training hard together with our teams during the spring and we are really looking forward to this week’s races. The competition is tough since the world elite will be participating”, says Mattias. Lysekil Women’s Match During the last week in July, 27 July – 1 August, the world championship in match racing, Lysekil Women’s Match, will be held in Lysekil with Stena Bulk as one of the main sponsors and Concordia Maritime as one of the boat sponsors. The competition is the world largest match racing event for women and the 12 foremost female crews in the world will be participating. Linda Rahm, who has won two years in a row and is now ranked no. 2 in the world, will represent Sweden together with Anna Kjellberg and Marie Björling. This year, the competition in Lysekil will have World Championship status and the match races are expected to attract large crowds.
