Adventurous Upgrade for Quality Hotel The Reef

Quality Hotel The Reef in Frederikshavn, Denmark has undergone an extensive renovation over the past year. The transformation is now complete, and guests and visitors are welcomed to a fully refurbished reception and communal areas, a brand-new restaurant concept, and an upgraded adventure water park.

Since 1987, this iconic hotel in Frederikshavn has played a key role in the region's tourism industry and has remained a beloved destination for families across the Nordic countries. Owned by Stena Line and operated by Strawberry under the Quality Hotel brand, the hotel is now entering a new chapter.

The renovation, which began in November, is a joint initiative between Stena Line and Strawberry. The hotel now boasts a newly designed lobby with an adjoining bar, a fresh restaurant concept, and a significantly enhanced adventure water park featuring state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, new furniture, and upgraded changing facilities. While the hotel rooms were originally refurbished in 2020, the final 18 rooms were completed as part of this latest renovation phase.

The Social Bar & Bistro has now opened in the hotel’s newly renovated restaurant space. This popular concept features well-loved classics and seasonal Nordic ingredients on the menu. Additionally, the hotel has introduced several new zones, including a conference area with karaoke rooms and shuffleboards, a new games room with board games, and a special teen lounge equipped with arcade machines. The hotel now presents a completely refreshed look while retaining its signature Caribbean charm.

Hotel Director Marianne Bredevang is thrilled that the project is complete and highlights several features that await guests and visitors.

The new reception and restaurant are gems in their own right. Quality Hotel The Reef features 210 hotel rooms, a water park with 10 pools, conference and event facilities, a gym, restaurant, bar, and a parking garage with EV chargers. The popular Adventure Water Park reopened on June 16, and the hotel is now fully operational following its extensive renovation.
