CFO Pekka Vähähyyppä leaves Stockmann, Lindex CFO Annelie Forsberg appointed new Group CFO

Stockmann plc's Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Management Team Pekka Vähähyyppä has resigned from his position for retirement. He will leave Stockmann on 30 April 2022.

Annelie Forsberg (b. 1972), M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed new CFO for Stockmann Group as of 1 April 2022. She is currently working as Lindex CFO and is already member of the Group’s Management Team.

Pekka Vähähyyppä has worked as Stockmann Group’s CFO during the period 2000–2015, and after a period as Finnair’s CFO, he returned to Stockmann in August 2019. As CFO he has played a significant role both in Stockmann plc’s corporate restructuring programme and in supporting the ongoing turnaround process. The implementation of the corporate restructuring programme has proceeded rapidly and according to the plan.

‘This is a good phase to leave the company. Most of Stockmann plc’s restructuring programme has been implemented, the group financing structure is solid and both divisions have improved their profits’, says Pekka Vähähyyppä. ‘During my career, I have gained a lot of experience, which will be useful in my board memberships in the future’, he concludes.

‘I want to thank Pekka for his great work in the Stockmann division’s change process. Pekka has had a considerable role in execution of the restructuring programme, organising equity and bond issues as well as in the sale and leaseback process of Stockmann’s department store properties. These tasks have now been carried out in a successful way. It is great to have Annelie taking over the CFO position for the Stockmann Group while also continuing in her current role as CFO for Lindex. She has extensive experience in the international retail business which has been fundamental in the successful development for Lindex during the past few years’, says CEO Jari Latvanen.
