Stora Enso awarded for its Pathfinders and Pathbuilders programme
STORA ENSO OYJ PRESS RELEASE 23 June 2014 at 09.05 EET
Stora Enso’s Pathfinders and Pathbuilders leadership development programme has received the 2014 EFMD Excellence in Practice Gold Award in the category of Organisational Development from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The award was granted jointly to Stora Enso and IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Group’s partner in running the programme.
“We are delighted that our Pathfinders and Pathbuilders programme has received this recognition. For us, this initiative has been instrumental in driving our transformation as it has allowed us to partner with great people in Stora Enso and at IMD when rethinking to the new. It is a great example of co-creation between the programme participants, our Group Leadership Team (GLT) and IMD, and I am delighted that EFMD has granted us this award,” says Lars Häggström, EVP, Global People and Organisation.
The Pathfinders programme was established in 2011 and continued as the Pathbuilders programme in 2012. The purpose is to develop Stora Enso by addressing critical business challenges. While the challenges are the foundation for the programme, the participants also learn from case examples and the latest in research. Another goal is to give participants the opportunity to develop and realise their potential. All employees are eligible to apply, and to date more than 400 employees have expressed a desire to be part of the programme.
EFMD is a global, membership-driven organisation based in Brussels. The EFMD Excellence in Practice Awards (EiP) recognise outstanding case studies describing an effective and impactful Leadership and Development intervention between partner organisations.
