    Sweco signs significant agreement with Statkraft in Norway

    Sweco has entered a major new framework agreement with Statkraft, Norway’s state-owned enterprise for renewable energy production and Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy. Under the three-year agreement, Sweco will provide consultancy services across multiple areas, such as construction and civil engineering, geoscience, hydropower, electrical power and resilience to natural hazards.As a long-term advisor to Statkraft, Sweco has supported various renewable energy projects, providing environmental studies and impact assessments as well as technical planning for hydropower projects.

    Sweco acquires geotechnical consultancy in Finland

    Sweco has signed an agreement to acquire Sipti Consulting, a specialist in geotechnical and environmental design and consulting.     Sweco to design one of Europe’s largest battery energy storage systems in Belgium

    Sweco will design one of continental Europe’s largest battery parks, Green Turtle, for the energy storage company GIGA Storage Belgium. This facility will have a storage capacity of 2,800 MWh of electricity. The park will make a significant contribution to the energy grid by providing stored renewable energy during periods of low solar and wind energy production — thereby reducing Belgium’s reliance on gas power plants.     Sweco to build Helsinki’s first green hydrogen production plant

    Finnish energy company Helen has selected Sweco as EPCM partner in the implementation of its first production plant for green hydrogen. Production of hydrogen is set to start in 2026, with the aim of supplying the heavy-duty transport sector.
