SAS to launch non-stop service to Eilat from Stockholm Arlanda
The number of destinations continue to grow at Stockholm Arlanda Airport as SAS is launching a new route to Eilat for the Winter of 2017. Travellers will be able to fly to Eilat once a week on Saturdays between October 28 and March 24, 2018.
“We are pleased that SAS is now starting up a scheduled direct service to Eilat, since it has been ten years since travellers could fly there non-stop from Sweden. The trend of increased leisure travel continues, preferably to fairly close destinations,” says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director of Aviation Business at Swedavia.
The popular destination of Eilat, which is located on the Red Sea on the southern coast of Israel, offers everything from white sandy beaches and coral reef diving to desert life, spectacular hotels and a vibrant nightlife.
“We are happy about SAS’s decision to now fly non-stop from Stockholm to Eilat,” says Mr. Yariv Levin, Israeli Ministry of Turism. “It has long been our goal to introduce direct routes to Israel, which is also being realised with great success, since many airlines now fly here, with record passenger numbers. We welcome Swedish tourists who are returning to Eilat and who choose an attractive, unique destination like this. For instance, experiencing the desert during the winter season is a unique experience”.
