TactoTek® Expands with Engineering and Project Management in Ulm, Germany
Regional office to provide local support for fast-moving customers
OULU, FINLAND/ULM, GERMANY (6 NOVEMBER 2018) – Today, TactoTek®, the leading developer of injection molded structural electronics (IMSE™) solutions, announced the opening of an office in Ulm, Germany, to provide local engineering and project management support for customers developing IMSE™ solutions. TactoTek’s Ulm office complements the company’s Sales offices in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
“TactoTek has a number of active customer projects in the region surrounding Ulm,” noted Sami Hyyryläinen, TactoTek SVP of Field Operations. “IMSE solutions remove design constraints of traditional electronics. To help our customers realize the full benefits of IMSE technology and move quickly from concept to mass production, we work in close partnership on design and development engineering. Having technical staff in Ulm makes that collaboration even more effective and convenient for our customers, and we are recruiting additional Application Engineers and Project Managers now.”
Demand for IMSE solutions is growing rapidly across many industries. OEMs and designers in automotive, IoT and appliance markets are leading adoption of IMSE because it is light, durable, saves space and opens new design possibilities for brands to differentiate their products. IMSE designs often include touch controls, lighting and antennas molded within a 2mm-3mm thin surface, providing elegant cosmetics, structure and electronic functions in a single part.
“TactoTek is expanding to meet the needs of growing markets and will continue to build technical teams where they can best support our customers,” stated Jussi Harvela, TactoTek CEO. “Being very hands-on helps our customers to evolve quickly beyond design assumptions founded on 100 years of traditional electronics assemblies, many of which are not constraints for IMSE: projects move faster, and designs integrate more IMSE benefits. With the imminent availability of CAD, CAE and simulation tools that support IMSE, we anticipate even faster adoption of IMSE solutions.”
