CVB Tourism Richmond ensures meeting planners get their money’s worth

Fly into Richmond, British Columbia, Canada (home of the Vancouver International Airport) and leave $1000 richer – CVB Tourism Richmond is delivering great news to start off 2014 and it’s all about value. Meeting planners who book a new eligible meeting by December 31, 2014 (with rooms actualized by June 30, 2016), will receive $1000 towards their group master folio and may even qualify for larger rebates based on the number of actualized rooms. But wait, there’s more. Any meeting planner that sends in a newly qualified RFP by December 31, 2014, will be automatically entered to win one of three CDN $1,000 Visa gift cards or have the option of donating the cash value to the charity of their choice.

“For any planner looking to the West Coast, we invite them to put Richmond, BC on their consideration and RFP list,” said Gayle Morris, Director of Sales at Tourism Richmond. “As a destination, Richmond has great delegate appeal, presents on average a 30 per cent savings over big cities, and offers a booking incentive that provides the value and ROI that every meeting planner is looking for. The $1000 gift card draw allows us to give thanks and can in turn, have a positive impact on a charitable organization.”

Located right next door to Vancouver, BC, 30 minutes from the US border and home to Vancouver International Airport, Richmond is growing in popularity as an ideal small to medium sized meetings destination on Canada’s West Coast. Meeting space in Richmond, BC is affordable offering high quality meeting venues combined with unique delegate experiences unlike anything in North America due to its Far East meets West Coast vibe.

Meeting facilities in Richmond are best suited for organizations hosting events with up to 500 delegates. The city has a wide range of meeting rooms and conference space throughout 24 name brand hotels with 5,000 guest rooms. While, home to the airport, only one of the city’s hotels is actually located there. Getting from the airport to downtown Richmond is a short 15-minute ride on the Canada Line rapid transit system or 25 to get into downtown Vancouver. With wineries to explore, 800+ restaurants (400 of which are Asian), a casino, Far East and West Coast shopping, National Historic Sites, plus nature parks and walks, meeting planners have plenty of options for pre-and-post meeting activities to please everyone. But most importantly, the key to meeting and event success in the city is having the free advice and support of CVB Tourism Richmond’s on the ground team who make life for the meeting planner easier than ever with their personalized “can do” meeting service approach.
