Celebrate the Centennial Issue of Quarterly Journal of Speech
2015 marks the Centennial Issue of Quarterly Journal of Speech – 100 issues that have challenged perceptions about communication and promoted the field. To commemorate this landmark Barbara A. Biesecker, Editor of Quarterly Journal of Speech has gathered a very special collection of essays fulfilling the journal’s aim of ‘advancing and enriching long-standing intellectual traditions as well as forging new intellectual frontiers’. The Centennial Special Issue features original scholarly content from former Editors and Book Review Editors offering a unique collective perspective for past, present and future thesis in the field of communication, as well as responsive essays from other scholars.
Published by Routledge on behalf of the National Communication Association, Quarterly Journal of Speech has an enduring tradition of publishing outstanding scholarship in rhetoric across many different intellectual, disciplinary, and political vectors.
The Centennial Special Issue is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear the opinions of respected and reputable scholars at one time. It is rare to have all former Editors of a publication agree to celebrate its rich legacy in such a dynamic and impactful way. The cross-generational dialogue speaks volumes to the scope and the impact of the journal in the field of communication. As the digital age unfolds and brings with it new forms of communication we can look forward to more changes in communication framework and new challenges in the analysis of this too.
Join us in sending hearty congratulations to everyone who has contributed to Quarterly Journal of Speech over the years, here’s to the next 100 issues.
