Routledge Education publishes essential guide to creating the safest schools possible

As of today, 5 May 2014, there have been 41 school shootings in the United States in 2014. Seven of which had fatal results1. How can we keep this statistic from rising?

Students, parents, and school staff deserve a safe learning environment. Yet recent headlines of violence, bullying, and drug abuse have shown the vulnerability of schools. In Creating Safe Schools, leading expert Franklin Schargel provides leaders, teachers, counselors, parents, and students with the necessary information to address and diminish safety problems in schools.

Lori L. Lamb, president of  the National Alternative Education Association (NAEA) 2008-2013, says “This clear, concise, practical manual is full of direction, research, and recent resources to tackle safety issues and is a must read for individuals creating a proactive plan to support a safe and positive learning environment."
